Family Calls 2-year-old Fighting Rare Vampire Disease Their ‘Superhero’

This two year old in Florida only goes out to play at night as he is allergic to sunlight. It causes his skin to burn and blister. Even when staying out of the sun his blood has a rare disorder and he needs an almost weekly blood transfusion just to stay alive. Fortunately donations have been setup for this family and are available at the link below.

Disclaimer: I have nothing to do with or am associated in any way with that gofundme link above.

A St. Petersburg, Fla. family is tangling with a rare disease that makes sunlight a severe threat to their toddler — a problem much more appropriate to vampires than adorable 2-year-olds.

Little Oliver Stanek is suffering from Congenital Erythropoietic Porphyria, which means he must stay out of the sun to avoid burning his highly sensitive skin and undergo blood transfusions every seven to 10 days.
