The carcass of a hairless animal with a mouth full of razor sharp teeth was found dead on the side of a road near Helotes, Texas. Another was located in the town of Stockdale, Texas.
Drake Gifford, who found one of the dead creatures, described it to TV station KMOV as having “red eyes, big old fangs and claws coming out, just a sharp as they could be.”
Gifford added that the creature appeared to have opposable thumbs — which are indeed visible in the footage below.
A chupacabra is a animal rumored to have first appeared in Puerto Rico and South America. The animal’s name comes from its trademark habit of allegedly sucking the blood out of goats.
Biologists, who believe the chupacabra to be a contemporary legend along the lines of Bigfoot or the giant feral pig, think that what people are reporting as the goat-sucking fiends are actually parasite-riddled coyotes. Still others believe the story to be an elaborate cover for a blood-sucking cult.
Sightings of whatever it is have been reported as far north as Maine.
